The business has expanded over the year with an increase in the types of work undertaken.
Gavin Lewis BSc MRICS joined us in early 2005 to assist with the workload. Gavin is recently qualified and brings with him experience from the public housing and healthcare sectors.
In order to consolidate existing drawing work, Geoffrey Thomas will be joining us on a part time basis to provide architectural CAD drawings skills. This should allow us to increase the amount of drawing work provided as well as better servicing the existing workload.
Andrew Petfield has now completed his qualifications for undertaking asbestos inspections having gained the BOHS (P402) qualification. Both Tom and Andrew are now suitably qualified to undertake such asbestos inspections.
Andrew took part in two CIRIA lectures during the latter part of 2005 providing advice for professionals regarding reinstatement after flooding to compliment the new guidance issued by CIRIA.
Andrew has also been invited to give a joint seminar on behalf of the RICS South East Region on reinstatement after flooding. This is due to take place on 14 March 2006 at the John Harvey Tavern in Lewes from 6.00pm.
Tom and Andrew are aiming to become approved Home Inspectors to provide Home Condition Reports. We are in discussion with a number of firms regarding the provision of Home Condition Reports for Home Information Packs (HIP’s). The ODPM has announced that the dry run will commence from 1 June 2006, with the system going live in June 2007.
It is our intention to be able to provide Home Condition Reports during the dry run period as part of companies providing Home Information Packs.
